This basement room is full of personality and colour, reflecting its owners. The kitchen, in contrast, is weighty and monolithic, grounding the space. A thick and heavy, polished concrete worktop sits on top of birch plywood carcasses, our preferred material for them due to its durability and strength. The doors and drawer fronts are also in birch plywood but with charcoal-coloured laminate faces and recessed handles. A bespoke glazed dresser sits opposite with an island in between made from solid black patinated steel.
